Hop aboard our air-conditioned coach and ride through the humble residential streets that children of the 80s and 90s fondly remember for their go-to spots. We start our journey in Deira and finish up at Jumeirah 1, making 5 tasting stops along the way.
As we drive through different neighbourhoods, we savour foods from communities whose stories are intricately tied to Dubai’s meteoric rise from a small fishing village. We taste herb-packed Palestinian falafels and pepper-spiked hummus in Deira, Emirati shrimp pilaf and date crepes in Bur Dubai, Keralite-style bread and stew in Karama and Iranian ice cream and samovar tea in Jumeirah 1.
This tour has been curated to be far more than just an eating experience. Gain an insight into the places where we grew up and how they’ve changed through the decades, some with splashes of artistic graffiti. Engage with our passionate guide who is armed with stories of the foods being featured, and is eager to share her insider tips on how to experience the city as locals do.
Our route and featured tastings are subject to change.

We meet at the entrance of XIMI Vogue shop outside Al Rigga Metro Exit #1, Al Rigga Road. The shop is steps away from Gift Gallery Centre. Please be on time, we don't wait for latecomers!
Given the heavy traffic, limited parking and different starting and ending locations, we strongly recommend that you take the metro rather than driving to the trail. If you plan to take a taxi, please budget extra time for traffic.
We absolutely do! We can accommodate a variety of special requests (family reunions, birthday parties, out of town guests, corporate, team-building, familiarization trips, delegations and more).
Please carry earphones for our tour guide audio system (else we will provide a free size one); don’t carry anything too heavy as we will provide a tote. If you plan to purchase edible souvenirs during the tour, please make sure to carry both cash/your credit card (most, but not all, locations accept credit card).
Please be sure to let us know if you (or anyone in your group) have a dietary restriction (e.g. vegetarian, diabetic, allergy, etc.) when you purchase your tickets. In most cases, nuts, lactose and gluten may be in the foods featured on our experiences and there is a risk of cross-contamination. If you have a serious allergy, we recommend contacting us at ‘email@example.com’ prior to purchasing tickets to enable us to advise you if our tours are suitable for you.
Yes, bathrooms are available on most of our tours at selected stops – however we do recommend using a restroom before arriving at the tour as not all tours will have a restroom break at the start.
At this time, we do not offer our walking tours in any language other than English. Our Emirati Culinary Session and Lunch can be offered in Arabic for private group bookings.
